If the container is not performing well there are a couple of thing to try to get the container working again.
1) Sometimes the white dial gets shifted and is no longer holding the orange valve indicator in place. Lift the the valve cover up and push form underneath to remove the valve and give it a clockwise twist - you should hear a clicking sound to indicate that it has been replaced properly. The white dial is a date dial and to set the date - just select the correct day of the month and clockwise twist the dial to the number. You can either set it for the day you put your food in or the day of the food expiration.
2) Place the lid of the container that is not sealing in your kitchen sink with very hot water. Soak the lid in hot water for about 10 minutes and carefully pull out the lid. NOTE: Do not let the lid dry off or cool down. While the lid is still wet and hot place the lid onto the corresponding container and press the lid until you can no longer hear noise from the container. Remember, this could mean 2 times for a really small container or up to 10 times for the large containers. Leave the container sealed on your counter overnight.
This should achieve the following:
A) Help the rubber in the seal that goes around the perimeter of the lid to soften and allow the lid to mold itself to the bowl. Once done this usually will solve any sealing problems
B) If there is a problem (Defective seal) the seal will not hold overnight. Please call 952-932-2993, Monday-Friday 9:30-4:00 p.m. CST if the seal will not hold and the above mentioned solution has not been successful.
3) Occasional changes in air pressure, temperature or very long periods of storage can reduce the vacuum pressure. If this occurs, simplly reseal the container.
4) Any Cracks or leaks in the container base of lid will prevent vacuum sealing.
